Red Ribbon Week | Girl Talk | Guy Stuff | ACE

KINDNESS WEEK 

WHEN: October 23 - October 27, 2023

ABOUT: Kindness week is an annual awareness campaign that encourages kids to recognize that simple day-to-day acts of kindness enable our school and community to be a kinder, safer, healthier and more inclusive place to live, work, learn and play.

GIRL TALK

WHEN: March 2024

ABOUT: Girl Talk is a health education program geared toward fifth-grade girls and their mothers/trusted adults. Attendance is entirely optional. It’s recommended that at least one fourth-grade parent volunteer to learn how to run the event for the following year.

GIRL TALK CHAIR:

GUY STUFF

WHEN: March 2024

ABOUT: Guy Stuff is a health education program geared toward fifth-grade boys and their fathers/trusted adults. Attendance is entirely optional. It’s recommended that at least one fourth-grade parent volunteer to learn how to run the event for the following year.

VOLUNTEERS: We are looking for a few parents of fifth and fourth-grade boys to be on the Guy Stuff committee. Timeframe = January 2024 - March 2024. Please CLICK HERE to learn more and to sign up.

AFTERSCHOOL CLASSROOM ENRICHMENT (ACE)

WHEN: Yearlong

ABOUT: Irvine Public School Foundation’s Afterschool Classroom Enrichment (ACE) program is offered in cooperation with the Irvine Unified School District to provide opportunities for students to pursue their passions and discover new interests through hands-on and online learning. VOLUNTEERS: Per IPSF, Canyon View cannot have ACE programs without an ACE Coordinator and ACE Monitors. Timeframe = Yearlong. Please CLICK HERE to learn more and sign up. 

SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES

WHEN: February, March & May 2024

ABOUT: School Assemblies play a crucial role in fostering school unity and reinforcing classroom lessons. These gatherings serve as platforms to disseminate information while offering students the opportunity to engage with topics in innovative and fun ways, encouraging them to approach subjects from fresh perspectives.
