Learning Excursions
What are Learning Excursions? Parents know them as Field Trips, but with the rising costs of bus transportation, schools have to consider less expensive alternatives to bringing the field experience to the classroom. Thus, Learning Excursions are on-campus and off-campus enrichment experiences that help give students a more memorable learning experience under these ever-increasing financial and time constraints.
For the 2019-2020 school year, PTA is once again making an extra effort to support at least one Learning Excursions per grade with the generous support of parent donations during our initial Pledge Drive fundraiser. Contributing at the beginning of the year helps teachers plan for learning excursions. Some grades may offer a 2nd learning excursion and these currently are supported by voluntary donations from grade parents later in the year. Please consider donating during Pledge Drive to cover these typical costs of $15 to $25 per trip! (6th Grade Outdoor Ed is funded separately by voluntary donations directly from 6th grade parents.)
